The Schools

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Elementary

M.K. Rawlings Elementary is a "neighborhood school" in East Gainesville, Florida with just under 500 students in pre-k through fifth grade. Being a neighborhood school, all the students live in a two-mile radius and many walk to school each day. Construction is currently taking place on a new addition to the school that will increase the number of classrooms. The student to teacher ratio is near 16:1 and 93% of the student population qualifies for free or reduced lunch.

We strive to ensure our campus is safe and that the learning environment is stimulating as well as challenging. We have high expectations for academic achievement, school attendance and excellent behavior. We expect our students to be successful.

Newberry Elementary

Newberry Elementary is a small rural school in Newberry, Florida with a little over 500 students in pre-k through fifth grade. The school has been recognized as an "A" school by Florida's school grading system in 2004, 2005, and 2006. The student to teacher ratio is approximately 17:1 and 55 % of the student population qualifies for free or reduced lunch.
